Fender Custom 1956 Limited Stratocaster Relic - FSB

As part of the Limited Edition series this 1956 Relic Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop mixes period accurate design and tone with some of the more modern features that people are used to on more recent strats. Available in this relic finish you would have thought it has been on stage every day since 1956.

This guitar takes it right back to when the original Stratocaster first started to hit stages in the mid 50's. With its heavily contoured body made out of a lightweight Ash matched up with an all Maple neck. This neck has been carved in to a large 'V' contour which was what you would have found on a lot of these guitar back in the mid 50's.

The Stratocaster has been known for featuring a trio of single coil pickups every since it first came out. Though since then and now the pickups have changed drastically making getting that classic tone quite difficult. So to make sure the sound you get is authentic they measured loads of traditional pickups over the generations and came up with a signature sound for each period. These are then turned in to handwound pickups like this set of 1956 models.

Going all out with vintage hardware and pickups is great way to capture authentic tone but it did have a punch of problems. That is why Fender made a few tweaks to offer the modern playability and controls we are all used to now. So the middle pickup us reverse wound with reverse polarity for noiseless operation. The master volume control also has Fender's Treble Bleed circuit which negates some of the problem with these vintage style pickups.
